Meet Dr. Rigas

Dr. Nick Rigas is from Grand Rapids, MI. He studied medicine at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his internship and residency (Otolaryngology Facial Plastic Surgery) at Botsford Hospital, he completed a fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. He is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Rigas joined the Center for Ear, Nose, Throat and Allergy in 2010.

Dr. Rigas is dedicated to the education of medical students, residents, and practicing physicians alike. He is a clinical trainer, lecturer, and mentor at the Marion School of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition, Dr. Rigas is the residency coordinator for the Center for Ear, Nose, Throat and Allergy and trains family and internal medicine residents from Community South, St. Vincent Hospitals, and Community East, as well as oral surgery residents from Indiana University. Recently, Dr. Rigas has been given an award for his dedication to resident training from the Community Westview (now Community South) Family Medicine Program (2015, 2016). Dr. Rigas served on the educational committee for the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Finally, Dr. Rigas holds several leadership positions; he is the current President of CENTA and chaired the ENT Department of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

Dr. Rigas is dedicated to compassionate and comprehensive patient care. He treats a full range of ear, nose, and throat problems in both adults and children including: allergies, hearing loss, sinus and throat pain, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, enlarged lymph nodes, and disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid and salivary glands. Dr. Rigas engages in cutting edge practice for general ENT issues, head and neck cancer reconstruction, and in-office balloon-based sinus surgery. In fact, he is among one of the first ENTs in Indiana to offer in-office balloon-based sinus surgery.

Dr. Rigas loves spending time with his family; when not taking care of patients, he enjoys exercise, watching movies, and trying new restaurants. Dr. Rigas welcomes new patients to his practice and is available for consultation.
